Yusufu Witness Nthenda was the Member of Parliament for Mulanje West in Mulanje District, serving from 2019 to 2025 for the Democratic Progressive Party.1
In the September 2025 election the Mulanje West seat was won by the UTM candidate, with 30% of the vote.2
