Ebbie Mathanda was the Member of Parliament for Mulanje Pasani in Mulanje District, serving from 2019 to 2025 for the Democratic Progressive Party.1

In the September 2025 election the Mulanje Pasani seat was won by an independent candidate, with 35.5% of the vote.2
