Mary Connie Livuza Mpanga was the Member of Parliament for Phalombe South in Phalombe District, serving from 2019 to 2025 for the Democratic Progressive Party.1
In the September 2025 election the Phalombe South seat was won by the DPP candidate, with 83.3% of the vote.2
