Biography
Bright Msaka was the Member of Parliament for Machinga Likwenu in Machinga District, serving from 2019 to 2025 for the Democratic Progressive Party.1
In the September 2025 election the Machinga Likwenu seat was won by the UDF candidate, with 36.5% of the vote.2
He was born on 4 October 1959 in Zomba District. He studied at University of Malawi and University of Salford Salford Business School. Before entering Parliament, he worked as a minister. He served as Minister of Education, Science and Technology (2017–2020), Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development (2014–2015) and Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining (2015–2017).
