How to Apply to Malawi Public Universities for Non-Generic Programmes

Apply online through the university’s admission portal or by post. For Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), applications are submitted through https://admissions.must.ac.mw/.¹⁰ If applying by post, send your completed application form to the University Registrar at the university’s address.² Other universities including Mzuzu University, LUANAR and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences accept applications through their websites.¹¹

Application fees

When you submit your application form, include a non-refundable application fee of K10,000 if you are Malawian, or US$100 if you are a non-Malawian student.²

Tuition fees after selection

If you are selected, tuition fees depend on your study category. According to MUST’s fees schedule, ODeL costs K1,300,000 per year, economic fee-paying costs K3,500,000, mature entry costs K1,800,000 and weekend programmes cost K1,800,000.⁶ All undergraduate students must also pay a medical cover fee of K60,000.⁶ Postgraduate students pay K6,128,000 in tuition plus the K60,000 medical cover fee.⁶ Pay fees through the university’s designated bank account, using your student registration number from your admission letter.³¹²
