Biography

Joseph Mwanamvekha has been Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Decentralisation since 5 October 2025, appointed by President Peter Mutharika.1

He is also the Member of Parliament for Chiradzulu Thumbwe in Chiradzulu District, sitting for the Democratic Progressive Party.2

He has also served as Member of the National Assembly of Malawi (2014), Minister of Industry and Trade (2014–2017), Minister of Agriculture (2017–2020) and Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development (2019–2020, 2025).
